SAAA negotiated group membership with SA United Employers ((SA)UEO)
As businesses are still dealing with two key burning issues amidst this COVID-19 landscape, and the subsequent economic downturn, the SAAA negotiated group membership with the (SA)UEO for both its accounting practitioners and their clients, to ensure legal right of appearance and representation at forums such as the CCMA, bargaining councils and the Labour Court. The membership rate encompasses an unprecedented group business legal cover (incl. CCMA Outcome Award and Litigation Cover), as well a wealth of up-to-date, continuously evolving IR and HR templates, tools and resources and two call centres for your convenience to give you legal advice.
Membership Fees
SAAA Subscriber - monthly fee of R175 (excl. VAT)
SAAA Subscriber clients - monthly fee of R275 (excl. VAT)
Rewards - On-selling of Membership to Clients
SAAA subscribers shall receive a referral fee of R15, 00 per month for each of their verified and paid-up clients who signs up membership with the (SA) UEO.
Application process

Step 2: Once you have completed the form above, you will receive an application form to fill in and submit. You will then receive a welcome letter from the (SA)UEO, confirming your reward benefits, relevant contact details, login password, insurance documents and an information brochure which you can forward to your clients.
Rewards Payment Process
A link is included in the client information brochure with the same procedure as step 2 above, excluding the reward benefit information which is not applicable to them. Each of your clients that take up the membership will automatically be logged against your (SA) UEO membership number.
Your referral reward of R15.00 per month will be paid via EFT into your nominated bank account on a monthly basis for as long as the client remains a paid up member of the (SA)UEO.
Membership Benefits Summary
CCMA/bargaining council representation
Upon a member receiving a CCMA or Bargaining Council application by a dismissed employee the member contacts the call Centre on the number provided and a (SA)UEO official will make contact with them in order to prepare for representation at the CCMA/Bargaining Council dispute forum.
Legal advice Call Centre
The members contacts the Call Centre on the number provided and gives their SAUEO membership number. Legal advisors will then telephonically assist and provide the necessary advice
Access to recommended national network of HR and IR experts
The member contacts the call centre on the number provided and a specialist HR/labour practitioner makes contact with the member to arrange a consultation.
Online HR and IR document library and resources
The member accesses the SAUEO web Site, enters their login code provided and then has access to the full library contents for viewing or downloading documents.
Invites to industry webinars and articles on HR, IR and related and topical business matters
Regular invites are sent out to all members for on-line webinars. Articles and news is provided on the SAUEO web Site.
CCMA/Bargaining Council lost case award
This is an insurance policy which covers the award amount handed down by a Bargaining Council/CCMA against the member for:
Unfair labour practice or
Unfair dismissal for: Ill health incapacity, contract terminations, misconduct and poor performance, or
Constructive dismissals
Claims
Upon an insured member receiving a monetary award made against them by the CCMA or a Bargaining Council the insured member must submit the following documents to the insurer within 48 hours, should they wish to lodge a claim:
Copy of the award and commissioners’ ruling.
Completed claim and questionnaire application form.
An approved monetary CCMA award amount or cover limit, whichever is the lesser, will be paid out to the client within seven (7) days of the insurer receiving the above documentation.
Copy of all the employees’ dispute referral documents.
Proof of paid up (SA)UEO membership.
The insurer may require any further documentation, which may be deemed necessary in processing the claim. Such documentation must be submitted to the insurer within 48 hours of such request.
Exclusions
Compensation in respect of a notice period payable to an employee as per a written contract of employment or any other written obligation to make payments in the event of termination of employment.
Any obligation arising from any law or regulation in respect of workers compensation, disability benefits, redundancy benefits, social security benefits or compensation or any similar law or regulation.
Any award made in favour of an employee by the CCMA or Bargaining Council as a result of the member having not complied with any statutory labour or employment related act or regulation and the employers’ own rules, policies, procedures, consistencies and employment contracts in the dismissal of the employee and/or termination of the employment contract, will not be paid out.
Cost awards made against the client for non-payment of wages or statutory monetary obligations or undertakings.

Limits of Indemnity
Total Award Cover limited to R 12,000 p.a.
